Cave Privée 1995

Despite a few climatic variations at the beginning of the season, the grapevines developed perfectly and under fairly favorable conditions. This resulted in abundance and quality!

Details

After a gentle, rainy winter, the season began with spring frosts, but only minor local damage was noted. This was followed by a succession of hot, rainy periods, leading to the development of certain parasites, which were quickly brought under control by our wine-growers. Flowering occurred under favorable conditions at the end of June, heralding an excellent yield. Harvest began in fairly cool weather on September 18, and was spread out over several weeks. The musts were beautifully balanced, comparable to those seen in 1988, suggesting excellent cellaring potential.

Grapes from around twenty Premier and Grand Cru villages were meticulously selected to create the blend of this vintage. Our House style can be seen in the use of 58% Pinot Noir, balanced with 33% Chardonnay and 9% Meunier.
