This cuvée embodies two of her major innovations, showcasing the oenological expertise of Veuve Clicquot: the production of the first vintage champagne in 1810 and the creation of the first known blended rosé champagne in 1818.

Thus, this cuvée is a blend of 90% Pinot Noir and 10% Chardonnay, to which 13% red wine is added from the historic plot "Clos Colin" located in Bouzy.

La Grande Dame Rosé 2018

La Grande Dame Rosé 2018 enchants with its depth and precision, combining balance and finesse. It perfectly embodies the spirit of Garden Gastronomy, a cuisine that honors nature, from garden to plate, where each ingredient is harvested at peak maturity to express its purest form.

Its roundness and red fruit notes highlight the tenderness of the veal, while the stuffed cabbage leaves provide freshness, color, and textural contrast. The reduced jus adds depth and silkiness, creating a refined and harmonious balance.

Frequently Asked Questions

La Grande Dame Rosé 2018 offers remarkable aging potential, shaped by the depth and structure of Pinot Noir, and reinforced by the red wine from Clos Colin. Already beautifully expressive, it will continue to evolve over the next 15 years, gaining complexity, precision, and finesse.
Clos Colin is Veuve Clicquot’s oldest parcel, located in Bouzy and acquired in 1741, then expanded to its current 1.3 hectares by Madame Clicquot herself. Recent climate and soil studies have confirmed her intuition: this unique plot is perfectly suited to still red Pinot Noir, thanks to a natural warm belt and rare clay-limestone soils that promote concentration, structure, and fine tannins. The red wine crafted from Clos Colin, representing around 13% of the blend, brings texture, depth and aging potential, playing a key role in the complexity and signature of La Grande Dame Rosé.
Serve La Grande Dame Rosé 2018 slightly chilled, ideally between 10–12°C, to fully reveal its aromatic complexity and texture. Use a prestige glass designed by the Maison or a white Burgundy glass to enhance expression and depth.
