VINTAGE RICH 2004
The "Rich" name first appeared in Maison Veuve Clicquot's archives in 1876 to refer to wines destined for the United Kingdom, distinguishing them from "dry" wines. In 1995, Jacques Péters recreated a Vintage Rich based on the 1988 Vintage, which at the time was sweetened with a "dosage" (mixture of sugar and Champagne wine) of 35 g/L. Produced only during exceptional years, Vintage Rich fascinated the gastronomic world and inspired the richest and most creative flavor combinations.
Loyal to the Vintage tradition at Veuve Clicquot, with its aromatic power and richness, Vintage Rich 2004 boasts a smooth and silky structure.
Exceptional weather conditions in September 2004 brought all of the grapes to optimum ripeness. Between September 23 and October 13, we harvested some beautiful grapes in a perfect state of health. The musts were wonderfully balanced. With an average alcohol content of 9.8% and total acidity of 7.3 g/L, the 2004 vintage has excellent aging potential.
Vintage Rich 2004 is an exclusive blend of about twenty Grands Crus and Premiers Crus. Its composition is as follows: 62% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay, 8 % Meunier. The dosage of 28 g/L added when disgorging results in a very complex aromatic palette.
