The Veuve Clicquot Bold Woman Award is a free entry no-purchase necessary award organized by Charton Hobbs Inc, having its registered office at 3000 René-Lévesque Blvd., Suite 400, Montreal, Quebec, H3E 1T9 (the "Organizer").
The Veuve Clicquot Bold Woman Award (the "Award") includes two (2) categories: The Bold Women Award and the Bold Future Award. The Award entry period begins on April 1st, 2020 at 12:00AM, Montreal time and ends December 31, 2020 at 8:00PM, Montreal time (the "Period"). Any entry participation for the Award received outside this Period will not be accepted. The time of receipt recorded for entries by the computer servers of the Organiser will be used to confirm entries are received within the entry period.
The Award is open to females who are at least twenty-five (25) years of age on the date of participation and who meet the following two (2) conditions: the participants must, on the day of their participation, (i) be the legally appointed President, C.E. O., Owner, or Chairwoman of a corporation registered in Canada and (ii) have effective control of said corporation, as defined in the Income Tax Act. The Organizer's employees, their families, the Organizer’s representatives and mandataries, members of the Award jury as well as any persons with whom they are domiciled, and any other persons professionally associated to the Award are not eligible to participate.
Participation in the Award requires full acceptance of these Rules and the decisions of the Organizer, which are final and without appeal.
If the Award cannot proceed as planned for any reason, the Organizer reserves the right to postpone, delay, modify or cancel the Award (in whole or in part), No liabilities or financial compensation will be pursued by entrants, and none shall be paid by the Organizer.
The Organizers decisions on whether a participation entry is valid or not are final. Any entry deemed not to comply with the conditions set out in these Rules will be disqualified.
The Organizer and/or the juries will not be required to disclose any information regarding the participants or their decisions and choices except as maybe required in these Rules.
The Organizer shall not be held responsible if the data relating to the participation of a participant is not received for any reason whatsoever or arrives illegible or impossible to process.
To participate in the Award, each participant must follow the steps described below.
The participant connects to the website exclusively dedicated to the Award accessible online at, chooses only one of the two categories of the Award (Bold Woman Award or Bold Future Award), clicks on "Participate" and completes in the following mandatory fields:
- her first name, last name, date of birth and valid e-mail address;
- the company’s name, main activities, date of incorporation, business number, number of employees, total revenues during the last financial year in 2019;
- the answers to questions related to below criteria; and
- provides her consent, release and waiver to enter into the Award.
Participation in the Award is limited to one entry per person and per corporation for both categories of the Award.
Any valid entry participation will be final at the end of the participation deadline. Therefore, after this date, participants will not be able to withdraw, retract and/or cancel their participation.

  1. Selection of finalists:

Among all the valid participations, a jury composed of three (3) people (composed of Veronique Gonneville (National Communication Director at Moët Hennessy Canada), Charlotte de Poncins (National Brand Director at Moët Hennessy Canada), and Camille Libre (Associate National Brand Manager Veuve Clicquot, Chandon and Travel Retail at Moët Hennessy Canada) shall select up to a maximum of five (5) finalists in each of the two categories of the Award. The selection of finalists will be based on the following criteria:

  • Bold Woman Award:


  • An entrepreneurial spirit: Founder, Owner, Chairwoman, C.E.O C.O.O. of an activity based in Canada. Driving force behind the company’s success due to a pioneering approach. Excellent business sense, dynamism, innovation, daring and adventure.

  • A successful economic model: Profitable growth sustained for several years, with a healthy balance sheet. Value creation attributable to the visionary management of its director.

  • A responsible business: True commitment of the candidate to responsible and sustainable business practices such as a carefully considered environmental policy. A concern for the quality of employees’ working lives and for healthy teamwork, as well as for diversity in the workplace and generous employee benefits.

  • A committed leader: Supporting, planning, pushing the envelope and demonstrating the ability to motivate employees and partners.


  • Bold Future Award:


  • A sense of innovation: Uncommon intuition to create a creative and adventurous business that’s in keeping with the times, has plugged a gap in today’s market and offered a new service.

  • An intuitive entrepreneurial spirit: Founder, Owner, C.E.O. or director of a visionary activity based in Canada. Possessing a dynamic personality, a keen sense of adaptability and tremendous dedication.

  • A corporate social responsibility: Commitment to responsible business practices such as a sustainable environmental policy at the heart of the company’s activity, the well-being of its employees, work spaces that encourage motivation and creativity, the development of talent and a healthy work – life balance.

The jury will nominate as finalists, the participants whose candidacy are deemed to best fulfill the aforementioned criteria.
The finalists will be notified by e-mail no later than March 15th, 2021.
The finalists will keep strictly confidential the fact that they are finalists until the public announcement of results by the Organizer. The Organizer reserves the right to ask the finalists to sign a confidentiality agreement in this regard.
The finalists will be invited to attend the official award ceremony, which will take place on September 16, 2020 during a cocktail reception in Toronto (the "Ceremony"), after a half-day of Panel discussion and presentation. The time and address of the venue of the Ceremony will be communicated to the finalists at least ten (10) days in advance. The organizer may at its descretion modify the format of the official ceremony of the award in case of unforeseen circumstances.
The Organizer will bear the cost of travel (for one (1) round-trip flight in economy class from a city with airport in Canada to Toronto, Ontario, Canada, valued at approximately CAD$600) and accommodation (for one (1) night in a hotel associated with the Organizer, valued at approximately CAD$300) for the finalists to attend the Ceremony.
The Organizer or its designated representative will make a minimum of three (3) attempts to contact the selected finalists (using the email provided at the time of participation) within two (2) business days of the selection date mentioned above. If the selected participant cannot be contacted within two (2) business days of the above-mentioned selection date, or if there is a return of any notification as undeliverable; then she may, at the Organizer’ sole and absolute discretion, be disqualified (and, if disqualified, forfeit all rights in connection with the Award) and the Organizer reserves the right, at its sole and absolute discretion, to select another eligible participant from among the remaining eligible participations submitted and received in accordance with these Rules during the Period (in which case the foregoing provisions of this section will apply to this newly selected participant).

  1. Selection of laureates:

Among the finalists, a grand jury composed of sept (7) persons (including Claudia Sjoberg (Business Woman Award 2018), Kiely Maclean (New Generation Award 2018), Alexis de Calonne (Managing Director at Moët Hennessy Canada)), will designate one (1) laureate in each of the two categories of the Award. The selection of the laureates will be based on the same criteria as for the selection of the finalists. The grand jury will nominate as laureate, the participant whose application seems to best fulfill the criteria above.
The laureates will be informed orally by the Organizer during the Ceremony.
No other message or notification of any kind will be sent to other participants.
Each of the two (2) laureates will receive a trophy on the day of the Ceremony as prize.
The value of the trophies is approximately: CAD$1,600 each.
Each of the two (2) laureates will be invited to visit Maison Veuve Clicquot located at 12 Rue du Temple, Reims, France, which will take place between March and October 2021 (the "Visit"). The dates and times of the Visit will be confirmed and communicated to the laureates at least three (3) months in advance. The Organizer will bear the costs of the Visit of the two (2) laureates. These expenses include  the cost of travel (for one (1) return flight in economy class from a city with an airport in Canada to Paris, France and the transfer from Paris to Reims in France, value at approximately CAD$1,500), accommodation (for three (3) nights in a hotel associated with the Organizer, valued at approximately CAD$900) and meals (valued at approximately CAD$300). [NOTE: PLEASE CONFIRM.]
The trophies and the Visit are non-transferable or exchangeable by a laureate and no equivalent monetary will be provided. The trophies, the Visit, timing, and their components may be altered for circumstances beyond the Control of the Organizer but shall be of equivalent value.
Participation in the Award constitutes acceptance of these Rules and the decisions of the Organizer, which are final and apply in full.
No prize replacement or transfer is allowed, except upon the decision of the Organizer, who reserves the right to replace the Visit and the trophy with a prize of a value greater than or equal to, or its equivalent in cash in case of unavailability. By participating in the Award, participants agree to abide by these Rules and the decisions of the Organizer.
The Organizer is not responsible for any type of technical, hardware, software malfunction, loss or unavailability of network connections, or failure, malfunction, inadequacies, inaccuracies, a truncated transmission or a delay in the transmission of electronic communications caused by the participant, any of the equipment used in connection with the Award or any human error that may arise in connection with the process of a participation in the Award; and assumes no liability for damage to a computer system due to participation in the Award, access to information or downloading of information in connection with the Award. The Promoter is not responsible for: (i) late, lost, delayed, damaged, postage due, incomplete, illegible, misdirected or undeliverable participations, whether by email or post or otherwise, (ii) theft, destruction, unauthorized access or modification of the participation documents.
The Organizer reserves the right to cancel the participation of any person who sabotages or attempts to sabotage the participation or verification procedure or the operation of the Award, which contravenes these Rules, which acts in a manner contrary to or who seeks to disrupt the course of the Award. Any deliberate attempt to interfere with the legitimate conduct of the Award may constitute an infringement of the law and, in the event of an attempt, the Organizer reserves the right to claim damages in accordance with the law. The non-application of one of the conditions of these Rules by the Organizer is not deemed to constitute a waiver of this condition. If the Award cannot proceed as planned for any reason, including due to a computer virus, bugs, sabotage, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical breakdown or for any other cause that the Organizer cannot control and which corrupts or affects the management, security, impartiality, integrity or smooth running of the Award, the Organizer reserves the right to postpone, delay or cancel the Award at any time.
It is sent free of charge to any participant upon request (within the limit of one request per participant) from the Organizer, before the end of the Period of the Award (date as per postmark). These Rules are also available on the website dedicated to the Award
The postal charges necessary for the sending of these Rules will be refunded, upon simple written request, on the basis of the slow delivery “letter” tariff in force. Any request for reimbursement must be sent in writing no later than one month after the closing date of the Award, date as per postmark. The refund will be made by bank transfer, sent within sixty (60) days of receipt of the request, after verification of the merits of the request. Any request for reimbursement must be accompanied by the first name, last name, and address of the participant, the name of the Award and the information required for an electronic bank transfer.
Each provision of these Rules is divisible and a declaration by a court of competent jurisdiction that any provision or part of it is void or unenforceable will not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision of these Rules, subject to the provisions of Article 1438 of the Civil Code of Quebec.
Paragraph headings are for reference only and do not affect the interpretation of the Rules.
Recall that Veuve Clicquot champagne is an alcoholic drink. By participating in the Award, the participants (as well as the finalists and laureates) agree that the Organizer, its parent company, its subsidiaries, its affiliated companies, its advertising and promotional agencies, and all their shareholders, officers, directors, employees and assigns, members, representatives and agents do not incur any liability and are released from any liability by the participants (as well as the finalists and laureates) in the event of personal injury, loss or damage of any kind suffered by a person, including death, or property, arising wholly or partly and directly or indirectly from the acceptance, possession, use or misuse of the Award, if applicable, or participation in the Award referred to herein, or any contest or associated activity, subject to the provisions of public order.
By participating in the Award, participants declare and guarantee that they have read these Rules, are fully informed of its contents and accept them in their entirety.
By participating in the Award, the finalists and laureates authorize the Organizer and its service providers to capture, fix, reproduce and use their image and their first name, last name and all information provided to the Organizer for her participation in the Award for all communications (both internal and public), for free, for advertising, promotional and commercial purposes in connection with the Award, for a period of ten (10) years and in all media.
Your participation must be your own work, not a copy of preexisting material. Your participation (or anything contained or related to it) must not contain anything that: (i) infringes, misappropriates or violates a third party’s patent, copyright, trademark, trade secret, moral rights or other intellectual property rights, or rights of publicity or privacy; (ii) violates, or encourages any conduct that would violate, any applicable law or regulation or would give rise to civil or legal liability; (iii) is fraudulent, false, misleading or deceptive; (iv) is defamatory, obscene, pornographic, vulgar or offensive; (v) promotes discrimination, bigotry, racism, hatred, harassment or harm against any individual or group (which include, but are not limited to, race, sex, creed, national origin, religious affiliation, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or language); (vi) is violent or threatening or promotes violence or actions that are threatening to any other person; (vii) promotes illegal or harmful activities or substances; (viii) contains information or materials embodying the names, images, likenesses, voices, or other indicia identifying any third person (living or dead), such as personal names, e-mail addresses or street addresses, including, without limitation, those of celebrities and/or other public or private figures, living or dead, (ix) uses trade-marks, logos, trade names, or indicia of any third parties, (x) reflects negatively on the image, reputation or business of the Organizer, or (xi) in Organizer’s sole discretion, does at least one of the following: insults, attacks, harasses, bullies, threatens, demeans or impersonates others; contains “hate speech,” whether directed at an individual or a group, based on membership within certain categories; targets minors or promotes products or services that are illegal for use by minors, or that are deemed to be unsafe or inappropriate; contains adult content, including nudity, depictions of people in explicit or suggestive positions, or activities that are overly suggestive or sexually provocative; contains content that is shocking, sensational or disrespectful, or portrays excessive violence; is otherwise obscene, offensive, or inappropriate; or links to or promotes a webpage; or otherwise make available any unsolicited or unauthorized advertising, “commercial pitch,” promotional materials, junk mail, spam, pyramid schemes, or any other form of solicitation. If your participation violates these Rules, the Organizer reserves the right to withdraw and/or refuse to use and disqualify the participant.
1. Data processed, basis and purpose of processing
As part of the participation in the Award, the Organizer, responsible of processing, will be required to collect and process personal data about you (hereinafter, your "Data").
This Data is mainly: your name, first name, email address, postal address, date of birth and phone number, your photograph, image, voice, your connection logs, the company’s name, main activities, date of incorporation, business number, number of employees, total revenues during the last financial year in 2019 as well as the answers to the questions regarding the main criteria.
This Data is either necessary for your participation in the Award or collected on the basis of your explicit consent.
Your Data is collected in order to:
- manage the participation in the Award and, if necessary, manage the awarding of the prize;
- promote the Award and the Organizer;
The Data essential to the Organizer for the participation in the Award is indicated by an asterisk in the entry form. If you do not complete these required fields, you will not be able to participate in the Award. Other information is optional and allows us to better know you and your professional activity.
2. Data Recipients
Your Data is processed by the Organizer. They will not be assigned or made available to any third-party subject to (i) any subcontractors of the Organizer for exclusive reasons of the organization and management of the Award; and (ii) any restructuring of the Organizer, including total or partial sale of assets, merger, absorption acquisition, division and more generally any reorganization operation.
Finally, the Organizer may be required to communicate to third parties your Data when such communication is required by law, a regulatory provision or a judicial decision, or if such communication is necessary to ensure the protection and defense of its rights.
3. Your Rights
In accordance with the regulations in force, you have a right to access and rectify your Data, as well as the right to request their deletion, to oppose their processing and to obtain the limitation or the portability to the extent that this is applicable. You also have the right to give us your instructions as to the fate of your Data after your death.

4. Data Retention Period
The Data about you, collected and processed by the Organizer, will only be retained for the duration of the Award and the time required to award the prize to the finalists and laureates. They will then be destroyed, subject, as the case may be, to the provisions of the paragraph relating to the right of publicity.
Finally, the connection logs collected, subject to your agreement, in the context of cookies and other tracers set up on our website, will be kept in accordance with the applicable regulations for a period not exceeding thirteen (13) months.
