This is the story of a Grande Dame, the story of a Grand Champagne.
5 December 2019
La Grande Dame, is a showcase of the House’s excellence. It perfectly expresses its love for Pinot Noir, which since the 2008 vintage, has represented over 90% of the blend.
The responsibility that lies on the shoulders of the Cellar Master is to glorify this grape
and strike the right balance so that it expresses itself through its refined, elegant, light,
delicate, yet powerful character, with firmness, extreme subtlety and a certain restraint.
It is a tribute to Madame Clicquot and to the creative and elegant souls who have followed
in her footsteps. A wine to reflect the image of La Grande Dame herself.

The result of hundreds of years of savoir-faire, La Grande Dame is undoubtedly the champagne of grand celebrations and as such, deserves to be celebrated in its own right. For this 2008 vintage, Veuve Clicquot has joined forces with illustrious French crystal-maker Bacarrat to create an exceptional piece in limited edition.
Inspired by the letters Madame Clicquot exchanged with her agents and clients around the world, La Grande Dame by Bacarrat takes the shape of a black crystal inkwell, containing six bottles of La Grande Dame champagne: 1989, 2004, 2008, Brut & Brut Rosé. When opened, the inkwell reveals a champagne bucket crafted from black and gold pewter. In its base, a set of four Bacarrat crystal glasses and a drawer transform themselves into a leather-trimmed serving platter.
Truly a unique gift, if ever there was one.
