HAPPY 200TH BIRTHDAY VEUVE CLICQUOT ROSE!
20 July 2018
Last Thursday we celebrated 200 years of Veuve Clicquot Rosé, acknowledging Madame Clicquot’s audacious vision and her creation of the first know blended rosé champagne.
Australian actress Andrea Demetriades and Showpo’s Jane Lu were among 100 media, editorial and influencer guests who attended the launch at Sake Restaurant and Bar Double Bay. Playfully adorned with pink roses, balloons and birthday cake, the venue was a testament to Madame Clicquot’s rosé, created to be “flattering both on the palate and on the eye”.
Australian/French DJ Vocalist Niki De Saint set the French vibe with a Parisian style set, creating the perfect atmosphere for our Champagne brand ambassador, Dean O’Reilly, to deliver a short speech about the Clicquot rosé history, followed by Executive Chef of Sake, Shaun Presland, who spoke to the curation process of the food pairing with Clicquot rosé.

French-language chanteuses, Baby et Lulu, then delighted the audience by performing French classics, such as ‘La Vie En Rose’, while guests enjoyed free-flowing Clicquot rosé and a decadent grazing table complete with crispy sushi rice & spicy tuna, potato croquette with truffle edamame mouse, kingfish jalapeno rolls and spanner crab with avocado tosazu gel. Guests were then invited to enjoy additional rose at Mrs Sippy where Niki De Saint continued to play.
An exclusive consumer-ticketed dinner followed the event, offering Veuve Clicquot Rosé NV, Rose Vintage 2004, 2008, and La Grande Dame Rosé.

The celebrations will continue at Sake with a luxurious winter luncheon series and a special offer on Veuve Clicquot Rosé. Taking place every Saturday & Sunday from 12pm, enjoy a selection of Saké dishes for while sipping free-flowing Veuve Clicquot or Veuve Clicquot Rose. With Chef Shaun at the helm, two of the great food cultures of the world come together in a dramatic fusion of French feminine delicacy and exotic Japanese flavours. The offer is available at Saké Bar & Restaurants in Double Bay and The Rocks in Sydney, Hamer Hall in Melbourne and Eagle Street Pier in Brisbane.
