Our wines must be flattering both on the palate and on the eyes
At Veuve Clicquot, color is a source of boundless creativity, inspiration, and audacity. Not only do we admire color and integrate it into everything we do – our unmistakeable, iconic sunburst yellow comes to mind! – but color has long been essential to our House’s heritage. Did you know that two of Madame Clicquot’s most audacious innovations were inspired in part by color? The riddling table, for a champagne pure in color, and the first known blended rosé champagne, her creation distinct in taste, aroma, and luminous color. She knew that color is essential to appreciate a wine. Before it even comes to our lips, we take in a wine’s colors, depths, and luminosities with our eyes. As Madame Clicquot once wrote, “our wines must be flattering both on the palate and on the eye".
